How does VOX physically handle iTunes Library?

I can't seem to find an answer to this question. How does VOX "physically" handle my iTunes library? Does it create duplicate files in a separate location on my hard drive? (not acceptable). Does it in any way or for any reason or to any extent move the files out of the iTunes library into a new Library outside of iTunes? (also not acceptable) Or does it just play the files. leaving them where they are? (my hope).

I'm not getting rid of iTunes under any circumstance, and I can't have duplicate files being made -- my hard drive space would be gone in about a minute.
