Airplay to AppleTV Requires a passcode

Something changed recently. From time to time I stream Vox to my AppleTV via Airplay. Tonight I attempted to do just that and I get a message on my AppleTV that reads:

This Airplay connection requires iOS 7.1 or later, OS X 10.10 or later, or iTunes 11.2 or later.

I found this link on the Apple Support Site which led me to look at my Settings > Airplay settings. I have no option to disable security altogether. The lowest option I have is to use a First Time Passcode. Yet, there's no way for me to enter that from Vox (v2.8.21) on my Mac (macOS Sierra 10.12.4).

For now I can stream from my iPhone without any security prompts - not sure why.

I did try to stream something from iTunes and got a prompt on my computer to enter in a code from my appleTV thinking that might count as "First Time" but when I then tried to stream from Vox, I ran into the same issue.

Any ideas?

cheers,
kp
