Output selection on MacBook pro

I'm playing my HD files through a MacBook hooked into a Sennheiser HDVD 800. I've selected the appropriate output in the Mac preferences, and when I play music on iTunes, the sound goes out to the Sennheiser DAC as desired. However, when I use the Vox interface, the system overrides my output selection and plays on the MacBook's internal speakers. Any idea how to resolve this?

try please to select your output device from dropdown menu - see screenshot attached.
