HD Audio

#1

On Vox's home page it notes: "Apart from the common formats like FLAC, MP3, CUE, APE & M4A – you can playback HiRes Audio (HD Audio) with up to 24bit/192kHz. which is 4 times more than the standard 44kHz sound resolution."

How is this achieved? How does one take advantage of this?

My entire library was imported from CDs to iTunes in Apple's Lossless format - 16bit/44kHz is displayed at the top of Vox's player. Can I now take advantage of HD Audio somehow? Or do I have to re-import according to a different standard?

Sorry for finding Your question so late.. If it is still unanswered:
Yes, to take full advantage of HD playback You need higher resolution files. Once audio file is downsampled, there is no way to restore missing data back into file by upsampling or other means.

On the other hand, You are still benefitting from VOX being hi-res if You are using Equaliser or Audio Units - because if You set Your sound card to higher sample rate than Your files - all audio processing in Vox happens on this higher frequency, hence, all EQ/Audio Unit processing has more precision.

Tell me if I can be of any further help!
